The artwork is made of 4 intact 15 × 15 cm azulejos, overlaid with 4 broken azulejos of the same size, reassembled and adhered onto the surface. These fractured pieces create a textured, layered effect. Since each top tile is uniquely broken, every piece is one of a kind.
At the center, a vivid blue anatomical heart forms the core of the composition, surrounded by a circular pattern of blue and red floral elements. The broken tiles introduce dynamic cracks that cut through playful motifs—cherubic elephants, ropes, and decorative elements—adding tension and contrast.
The work explores the balance between fragility and structure, turning imperfections into an essential part of the visual and symbolic language.
